During a twenty-five year career in health care, I was the author of several clinical papers published in peer-reviewed and internationally recognised medical and nutrition journals. For even longer, I have had a passion for music. Two completely different worlds perhaps, but research-based writing would prove to be an invaluable transferable skill when applied to my interest in biography writing within the music industry. Since 2013 I have immersed myself full time in freelance writing and am the owner of A Nickel And A Nail, the UK’s first independent bookstore specialising in soul music and related genre literature. I now also provide biographies for individuals from a wider range of societal, cultural and international settings, and am available as a ghostwriter for hire.
As an independent author, I welcome enquiries for private commissions. I am also a biographer for the US publishing service Real Life Stories LLC, and a senior writer with the UK’s Story Terrace, as featured on the BBC television programme, Dragons’ Den.
